Great news! According to the weather forecast we're going to have more calima today - that was sarcasm, just in case it wasn't obvious.
Actually, the good news is that it won’t be as much as last week, which will be small consolation for those who have diligently washed cars, facades, cleaned out pool etc after the last visit from the Sahara Desert.
“Our computer models on the projection of dust from the Sahara show that there will be another intrusion over the Peninsular, although it won’t be anywhere near as much as last week,” said José Miguel Viñas, who is a meteorologist with www.tiempo.com.
By the way, the above website is by far the best and much more accurate than the Mickey Mouse ones that you smartphone browsers use. As my old Spanish father-in-law put it: Maldonado [TV weatherman who works with tiempo.es] es el único que vale; los demás ni sierven pa estar escondido.” It’s also the website we use on the Seaside-Gazette weather-forecast page.
Anyway, my old man apart, according to Viñas the calima will make an entrance this afternoon and will import quantities of North Africa until Friday morning, affecting above all the South-East; i.e., Granada and Almería.
Anyway, now you know why they paint their houses the colour they do over in North Africa.
