Local Police Want Investigation

The Almuñécar Policía Local have taken their complaint to the Subdelegación del Gobierno in Granada concerning the lack of police officers.

ALM Polica Local 400x250They consider the present situation “poses a danger for public safety.”

Furthermore, they consider that the Town Hall overstepped itself when it hired private security personnel to regulate traffic during an event in Almuñécar; i.e., the Three Kings Parade.

The hiring of the said company was approved by the Chief of Police, based on a favourable report from the Health and Safety officer.

However, the police union points out that only the municipal police receive training for handling traffic within urban confines – private security guards do not. Therefore, it was illegal, they consider.

For the above reasons, they request that this Central Government representative for the province investigates in order to clarify whether the Town Hall’s decision constitutes a civil or penal offence.

Well if found to be wrongdoing. I wouldn’t hold my Bret on any fine being levied. Actually being paid. Look at the poor old bills , non paid overtime owed.
The things that run these little fiefdoms at various towns. Need the option . Pay the fines or go to jail. Same as ordinary people if they err.!! Cake is always stake in prison.
