A woman died from her burns after her clothes caught on fire whilst she was preparing a meal in the kitchen.

The incident took place on the 21st of last month in the town of Berja in Almería in a house on the la Plaza de la Cruz.

The emergency call centre, 112, received an alert at 15.40h and immediately activated the Guardia Civil, Policía Local as well as the Eastern-Almería fire service (Bomberos del Consorcio del Poniente) although the latter was not needed.

The elderly woman succumbed to shock and burns.
