Camper Van Agitation

The Mayor of Almuñécar, no doubt nagged by some local businesses, has her patience wearing thin over the presences of lots of camper vans along the beaches, etc.

AXA Camper Van ParkMayor Herrera has told the Policía Local to go out and inform drivers and occupants of these vehicles that they are not welcome. However, it is doubtful that the municipal police (or lack of them) are keen to do her any favours at the moment.

“We are witnessing a proliferation of camper vans along our seafront promenades in La Herradura,” said the First Councillor for that village, Juan José Ruiz Joya, adding that he had had a meeting with the Chief of Municipal Police, as well as publishing a bylaw that prohibts people from camping or even parking RVs there.

“We have nothing against this kind of visitor but it must be regulated so that they do not cause a bother for other citizens,” he added, pointing out, as well, that there are two official camp sites in town.

Finally, the Town Hall is looking into the possibility of creating a parking area where RVs can park overnight in La Herradura after receiving a request from somebody to set one up as a business.

Editorial comment: I was coming back along the N-340 from Torre del Mar and was pleased to see one of the small towns before Nerja had such a parking area for RVs, across the road from the beach. Somebody, at least, tries to make them welcome instead of treating them like lepers.

Andy. I’m not certain how you can guarantee parents being anti vaccine. Which has little to do with the issue of some campervan people being a bit. Shall we say ,free spirited. Do I detect a slight dislike of said people. Or this guarantee?? . Is it as good as the two year guarantees from most shops or online purchases.?? I personally have had my jabs. Same as I had flu jabs. It’s a just in case . In older age. I’m more concerned that the local police did work for nowt and also three kings went to some security company for rather a lot. Stinks. !! But then I guess no worse then the party animals in the UK.!!

The amount of children running wild in camping Nuevo is disturbing. They should be in school. Also I guarantee the parents are anti vaccine.

So let me get this right. You are found to owe the police local loads of money in unpaid overtime. You employ three private security people for Three Kings.
Then you expect them to police bylaws whole heartedly. Hmm. Cake anyone.??
