Almuñécar is going to give Calle Alcalde Julio Fajardo a facelift; that's the one that leads up from Plaza de Madrid up to the Paseo del Altillo.

The reason being is that with a budget of 14,600 euros they’re going to improve the underground infrastructure, as well as embellish the surface area.

In the meantime, the buildings along the street have had there services plumbed in for the duration in a temporary arrangement.

On the surface workers will be replacing the pavement so that the whole street will have the same pattern paving stones.

The previous work on the Altillo and the Plaza de Madrid affected their respective ends where paving is concerned, hence the street having different types of paving stones.

Councillor Beatriz González explained that the work would affect “some 98 lineal metres of pavement surface, giving a total area of 145 sq/m” and that they would improve the pavement access ramps.

She concluded by explaining that the work would culminate in the length of the road receiving a layer of new tarmac and that the work should last about four weeks and will be carried out by Viales Progreso S.L.
