The Guardia Civil arrested a 21-year-old man accused of two muggings within Almuñécar. The booty comprised of handbags, a mobile phone, ID, bankcards, etc.

The arrest of the suspect, part of a police operation entitled, Pullsexi, came after muggings carried out on Calle Larache, where the victims were attacked from behind and threatened with a knife.

Both victims went immediately to the Guardia Civil post in Almuñécar to report the muggings. The description given by the victims matched that of a known local criminal.

The police also looked for more evidence by examining CCTV footage from nearby businesses, as well as statements from people who had witnessed these two incidents, which also corroborated the suspects identity, thanks to the police mug shots.

He was soon located, arrested, and has appeared before a magistrate pending trial.
