According to Infocostatropical, three individuals wearing surgical masks held up a souvenir & gift shop on the Paseo Puerta del Mar in Almuñécar yesterday afternoon.

The thieves tied up the Teka Spirit, shop assistant and made off with the contents of the till and several objects of value.

The assailants used plastic tie-offs to bind the woman’s hands but no violence was used against the young woman.

It was the shopowner, who arrived at the end of the morning opening hours to close the premises who found the victim and phoned the police.

Both the Policía and Guard Civil soon arrived to question both the owner and the shop assistant and look for evidence that could lead to the identification of the thieves.

This was not the only robbery carried out on businesses on the Costa Tropical in the last few days as very recently a bank in Salobreña was also targeted.
