A young man from Frigiliana, Carlos E., is in the ICU of Málaga's main hospital after receiving to stab wound to his side Saturday night.

The 36-year-old, self-confessed culprit, Rubén C.U. carried out the stabbing in a well known village pub after a heated argument. The 28-year-old victim and the aggressor knew each other before and animosity existed of a business deal involving animals.

The incident occurred just after midnight. Immediately, several people phoned the Guardia Civil who sent a patrol from Nerja. They questioned eye witnesses and also located the assailant nearby who offered no resistance to arrest and admitted to having stabbed the victim.

In the meantime, an ambulance rushed the victim to the Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquía and from there, owing to the severity of his injuries to the main hospital in Málaga. There his spleen was extirpated as part of an emergency surgical intervention before being placed in the ICU.
