Yesterday's incident on Playa de La Rijana was not the only beach incident lately as there was a heart-attack victim on Playa de la Perla in Carchuna on Sunday.
It was around 18.10h that the seemingly lifeless body of a 74-year-old man was recovered from the water off the said beach between Carchuna and Calahonda after having suffered a severe heart attack whilst in the water.
Fellow bathers had managed to get him out of the water where medical personnel applied CPR for over 50 minutes.
At first it seem that their efforts were to no avail but after around an hour they managed to recover a weak pulse and eractic breathing so he was rushed to Hospital Santa Ana and from there, later that evening, to Hospital Virgen de las Nieves, where he finally died as a consequence of the heart attack.
