Almuñécar's water park will be closing on the 12th of this month but until then it will be free for those 65 or over.
Aquatropic has been the only water park in the province that has operated this summer.
During the course of the summer they have struck deals with Canal Sur, Alcampo, Centro Comercial El Ingenio, workers unions, clubs and AMPAS (school parents’ associations).
There have been special offers, especially online, and the park has used its social-media accounts to organise raffles and competitions.
Editorial comment: the press release was a bit ambiguous because its says “Mayores de 65” meaning over 65s, which logically means from 66 and above. However, the offer probably includes those aged 65.
Now, behave yourselves this year, because we’ll have not repeats of British pensioners hopping onto the slides behind German pensioners, whilst holding their arms out straight like wings and humming loudly the 633 Sqn theme song and occasionally shouting daka-daka-daka! We would also ask the German pensioners to refrain from water bombing the Poles in the main pool shouting, “We’re back!”
…Just joking!
