The Junta decided to bring forward its meeting of the Committee of Health Experts normally held on Tuesday to Monday; i.e., yesterday.
The main decision taken was to make a vaccination certificate, a negative PCR or an antigene, test-result obligatory to enter night clubs or disco (ocio nocturno/night life), coming into effect at 00.00h on the 5th.
A negative PCR or antigene test cannot be older than 72 hours to be valid.
The Junta had urged the Central Government to install the ‘Covid Passport’ in line with other European countries, but this had been rejected.
The restrictions imposed on the 22nd of July have been extended; i.e., those affecting maximum occupation of establishments.
The reason for this move is because the contagion ratio for Andalucía has increased for 32 consecutive days, standing at 584.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. The last time that Andalucía had such a high average was on the 12th of February when it stood at 583.7 per 100k.
The regional Health Minister, Jesús Aguire, said, “the contagion ration in young people continues to be very high thanks to the spread of the Delta Variant.” He was referring to the fact that rate for the age group between 20 and 29 is three times the regional average.
UPDATE: The Junta has since announced that it is postponing this decision until it receives judicial backing.
