For the second year running, Almuñécar Town Council has had to cancel the villages fiestas in La Herradura owing to the pandemic.
First Councillor for the village, Juan José Ruíz Joya, regretted having to cancel the Fiestas Patronales, San José 2021, which are normally held on the 19th of March.”
Sr. Ruiz Joya said, “The general situation in the country where Covid-19 is concerned is very complicated. For this reason we profoundly regret that the fiestas in honour of San José have been suspended.”
He went on to say that it is the responisiblity of those occupying public posts to safeguard the health of citizens and as people will understand that it is “practically impossible” to contemplate holding the fiestas with its corresponding gathering of people to participate.
He concluded be expressing the wish that the people of La Herradura would be able to celebrate in 2022.
