A couple were injured after falling off a bridge on the Paseo de los Tristes (underneath the Alhambra) in the early hours of yesterday.

Actually, only one of them fell; the 30-year-old woman. Her 48-year-old partner jumped off the bridge to reach her and actually came off more badly injured than her.

The emergency services received a call around 02.00h Sunday morning from a person who had seen the incident taking place. The fire service and an ambulance were sent to the scene; the former to get them safely out of the riverbed and the latter to take them to hospital. The police were also present.

After using an extending ladder to bring them out, they were taken to the Hospital Campus de la Salud.
