Five bars and chiringuitos were fined in Motril last weekend, bringing the total up to nineteen establishments to face financial retribution. Five fines were also served to individuals for holding open-air bottle parties (botellones).
According to the Motril Policía Local de Motril, between the 1st of August and the 10th they found 18 establishments that had not obeyed the new, closing-time norm and another 11 for having irregularites over the use of their bar terracess.
They have also issued seven fines on beachgoers for safety-distance infringements and ten for participating in illegal bottle parties. One of these botellones was on the Avenida de los Geráneos in Calahonda, where all the participants were fined.
As for masks, since it became obligatory to wear them, 300 people have been fined for not wearing one, 35 of which were during last weekend.
