Moroccan Feud in Motril

MOT Policia Nacional patrol carOfficers belonging to the Policía Nacional in Motril arrested two men over an incident involving a firearm on the 16th of last month.

The suspects, aged 39 and 30, one of whom was Spanish and the other Moroccan, made death threats to two Moroccan residents, both aged 22, threatening them with a shotgun and a knife.

As mentioned above, the incident took place mid-July on a street within Motril. The police received a call to say a person was being threatened with a shotgun so a patrol was sent out. When they arrived a large crowd had gathered on the street but nobody was willing to talk about what had happened.

Later investigation found that the culprit had fled the scene in a vehicle after ditching the weapon. The police obtained a description of the car.

It appears that the discord had come about over one of the suspects stealing an object of value from the girlfriend of one of the victims the day before. The boyfriend had confronted the man there and then, which led to the scuffle the next day.

Armed with this information, a search was set up to located the car, which the police tracked down on one of the town’s avenues with three people inside, two of whom had been involved and arrested.
