The Guardia Civil carried out seven arrests involving illegal immigrants from Algeria just moments after they had beached their craft.

This occurred yesterday afternoon on Playa de Zacatín (Rijana), which lies just between the municipalities of Motril and Gualchos/Castell de Ferro.

According to the police report, the arrests were made around 12.30h by the maritime branch of the Guardia Civil, as well as the land-based patrol.

The immigrants, all males, were attended to by the Cruz Roja before being transferred to the police station in Motril.
