Motril Burglar before Judge

provincial lawcourts of granadaThe Public Prosecutor at the Provincial Law Courts in Granada is recommending a 7-year-sentence for a man over a burglary in Motril.

The 54-year-old man stands accused of carrying out a burglary when the victims were asleep in the flat by climbing up the facade.

The burglary took place on the 7th of February this year around 04.00h. The accused allegedly scaled the facade to a 1st-floor balcony in a block of flats, and tried to force the aluminium-framed window but failed, so he opted for climbing up another floor to a window balcony above.

This time he managed to force an entry and removed from inside a purse with 39 euros, a small handbag, a bicycle and a coat without those sleeping inside realising what was happening.

The Public Prosecutor charged him with one attempted burglary and another burglary with the inhabitants inside and recommends  seven years’ imprisonment because he already has three burglaries on his criminal record. He also recommends that the accused pays for the damage caused and the items stolen, which were never recovered.

Editorial comment: 54-years old, stealing a bicycle two floors up after climbing up the facade? He deserves a job in a circus.
