Reader: No Water!

Reader's Letter 01Yesterday our water was turned off for three hours in the morning without warning. [Reader writes from La Herradura].

I was told when I posted on the Town Hall Facebook page that it was not to do with the works in the street and that they had not turned off the water.

I knew we weren’t the only ones affected as spoke to others I met outside after going to the shops and I passed the council worker just as he was turning it on again, so politely replied that it definitely was off and not just in our building.

Today – water off again before 9 am  – now 11.45 and still no water.

We feel this is unreasonable during lockdown! We filled a bottle of water last night just in case, having experienced this last year during streetworks, but if we go out to exercise in the morning or have to go out shopping, no chance of a shower or much hand washing when we get home!

Thank you for finding out ! Water was back to normal yesterday ( Thursday 8th May). When it came back on during Wednesday it was very dirty and blocked some of our taps with sand! All sorted now.

We asked for more information concerning when it would be fixed and received a replay yesterday morning saying:

    Buenos días.
Les informamos que la avería se reparó en el día de ayer. Todo quedó subsanado.
    Saludos.

We have received a reply from Aguas y Servicios which can best be described as stating the obvious.

    Buenos días.
Les informamos que en el día de ayer se produjo una avería en la calle Alhambra junto al edificio La Caleta en La Herradura.
    Saludos.

We had a A4 paper taped to the utilities door to say water would be off 9am to 2pm. But then we did not notice it off at all! Maybe the OP has not noticed a notice.
