Can anyone tell me the accepted distance you can walk your dog? I asked at a Guardia post and they said they did not know.
I have been told 50 metres from your entrance, 100 metres, and a friend in Madrid says he walks 1 km and has been passed by police without them stopping.
Children, I understand, can go out for 1km – is that correct and could it be applied to dogs?
Would just like to have an official answer. I can find no answer online

Basically, there does not appear to be a set distance but boils down to: You walk until it poops, then you turn back:
The Ministry stipulates: “short walks, enough to cover the dog’s necessities; no contact with other animals or persons; take a bottle of water with detergent and a poop bag; choose a time when there are fewer people about.”
That’s it!
