The majority of hotels finally closed after the last clients left this Sunday past, following a one-week notice given by the Central Government. What now?
As mentioned in a previous article on this site, the two Bahía hotels in Almuñécar and the Peña Parda Bay in La Herradura had offered their rooms as auxiliary rooms for the overloaded hospitals. Between them they have 375 rooms.
Since then Hotel Elba in Motril has done the same with just under 100 rooms.
Most of the hotels on Costa Tropical are in Almuñécar where there are over half a dozen. Salobreña has two and Motril, just the one. La Herradura has two but one always closes in the winter, as does Playacálida in Almuñécar.
