A double death occurred in Motril on Monday night when the sight of her dead father gave a woman a heart attack and she died.

The two victims were the 85-year-old father and his middle-aged daughter. The former had suddenly been taken ill but died before an ambulance could get there, after being alerted by the man’s wife.

The daughter had rushed around to her parents’ home on Calle Cruces after also getting a call from her mother to say that he was very ill. Such was the distress caused by seeing her father lying dead that it gave her a heart attack killing her on the spot.

Editorial comment: the double blow must have been tremendous for the mother, losing her husband and daughter within moments of each other, in both cases, right before her eyes.
