Salobreña has introduced a novel system to help tourists find their way around what the town has to offer.
The municipal work crews have inset small discs into street surfaces indicating the way to and along lesser known “enchanting streets” off the beaten track.
In total there are 58 bronze discs, 15cm in diameter, with indented direction arrows and the figure of a hiker.
“We want to introduce visitors to the little-known corners of the old town with the help of these arrow discs, explained the Councillor for tourism, Gabriel Alonso, adding that they had wanted to use an unobtrusive, low profile but efficient system in keeping with the historic nature of the old town.
