The Motril fire service, with the help of the Salobreña Policía, rescued a horse on Christmas day, stuck in a deep irrigation channel.

A passerby alerted the police to the plight of the animal in the morning.

The horse had to be blindfolded to stop it panicking and hoisted out very slowly and carefully. It’s not known how it ended up there.
