Everybody thinks that the Town Hall is somewhere where you go and waste a morning on a bureacratic errand, but in the case of Motril, there’s something else. You see, the building has a lot of history which you will soon be able to visit.
Recently, 15,000 euros was spent on giving the facade a facelift but inside there are rooms that are well worth a visit, which will soon be possible.
The Salón de Protocolo, which is the poshest one in the building will be open to the public during normal town-hall hours. Also included is the Sala de Plenos and even the Mayor’s office, when she’s not in it, of course.
During last month they installed information boards on the walls with a brief history of each of these before-mentioned rooms, as well as information about the paintings on the walls.
On the main staircase there will be a collection of historic photographs (before and after) of Motril, showing how the town has evolved over the years.
