The Andalusian Health Board has finally accepted the proposed plot of land next to the banks of the Río Chillar for the new medical centre.

It had taken 16 years and three different proposed sites before the Board finally agreed but now things can start rolling again.

This third site, covering some 3,733 sq/m, had been originally rejected because of possible flooding. However the Junta finally accepted that this was not the case and removed their objections to it.

But we are still a long way from seeing the first bricks laid so residents will have to continue using the old medical centre, which is nearly 50 years old.
