A middle-age man had the misfortune of falling down a flight of steps on the Calle de La Agua in Motril. These are the steep steps right at the top next to the fountain junction on Avenida de Salobreña, opposite the municipal market.
The accident occurred around noon yesterday and as a consequence of the fall the man hit his head and was rendered unconcious.
By the time that the ambulance arrived he had come round but he was taken directly to Hospital Santa Ana to be on the safe side.
Anybody with a pram or a mobility vehicle coming up Calle de La Agua, wishing to access Avenida de Salobreña is faced by steps on both sides of the road, meaning that they have to use the road rather than the pavement to achieve it. For this reason there has long been a demand to have access ramps for people with mobilitiy problems.
