A shopper slipped up on the floor tiles of a self-service shop in the centre of Granada and has finally won her case for compensation.
The accident occurred on the 23rd of November, 2016 and resulted in the woman fracturing her wrist. There is only space for one line of floor tiles between the door and the pavement – had she slipped on the pavement, it would have been a different matter.
As it now stands, the court has just decided in her favour and awarded her 11.600 euros in compensation. However, the judge did not concede to all that the prosecuting lawyer was demanding. Furthermore, the defendant can appeal before a higher court.
The defence alleged that the accident occurred outside the shop and not inside, but that single line of floor tiles laid by the shop was enough to swing the judge’s decision.
