A refuse lorry came off the road and was left dangling over a drop in Salobreña on Thursday the 22nd of last month.
The accident took place just a few metres before the gasoline station on the N-340, with the lorry coming to rest at an angle over the ramp leading up from the trading estate to the gasoline station.
According to witnesses and the version given by the lorry driver, there was a brake failure and rather than risking crashing into other vehicles, the driver decided to aim at the dividing bank which is covered with bushes and vegetation to slow the vehicle down. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
A large crane was needed to extract the lorry from its resting place.
