A driver had to be treated in hospital, not because of a road accident, but because a pedestrian repeatedly thumped him through his open window.
The incident took place on the Motril access roundabout near the port – this roundabout is known locally as the “roundabout with the flag.”
It was 02.30h Monday morning when an argument ended with the pedestrian throwing several punches at the driver’s head, giving the man a broken nose amongst other facial injuries.
The victim’s car stayed where it had stopped on the roundabout whilst a family member attended to the victim’s bloodied face before calling an ambulance. He was taken to Hospital Santa Ana to be treated.
It is not known what caused the heated argument, which is why the police are investigating the incident.
