Playa Patrol in Salobreña

SAL Lifeguards PostFour articles in one day! You’re all spoilt but we cannot miss out the Playa Patrol event in Salobreña this evening.

This excellent citizen movement will have its stand on the beach where those interested can put their names down and/or find out more about Playa Patrol between 19.00h and 21.00h.

Playa Control has had great success on Almuñécar and La Herradura beaches but want to spread the word and spirit further along the coast; hence this informative event on Playa del Peñón, next to the main lifeguards post.
The Asociación Playa Patrol, headed by Ann Jenkins together with four ‘Beach Captains’ will be there to explain what they do, why they do it (not that it really needs explanation) and how they are organised.

The first organised beach clean-up operation in Salobreña is planned for the 22nd of September, once the summer crowds have left.

Yet there are many small groups with similar idea so Playa Patrol would like them all to work in conjunction, which is also the wish of the Councillor for Tourism and Beaches, Gabriel Alonso.

So, now you know, if you live in Salobreña, make sure ‘hit the beach at 19.00h or if you are already, saunter over.
