Two youngsters in Guadix were arrested for allegedly draining somebody’s bank account with a stolen credit card.
The two suspects, a minor and a 24-year-old man, came across the wallet of a local from Purullena and then made one purchase after the other for less than 20 euros each time, until the victim’s credit card ran dry. They reportedly did this between the 20th and 23rd of March.
Thanks to the new system used by banks, you don’t need a pin code or ID for purchases of less than 20 euros – you just swipe your card and the money is automatically deducted.
The suspects visited dozens of businesses in Guadix, making minor purchases until finally one shop told them that the card had no balance left.
The first thing that the victim knew anything about it was when his bank manager phoned him to say that he had reached his credit limit. He immediately reported the loss of the wallet and what had been happening with his credit card to the police. It didn’t take long for the Guardia Civil to identify the two culprits, thanks to CCTV footage.
Editorial comment: How come he didn’t notice his wallet missing for three days? Everybody knows if you lose your card, you immediately report it to your bank, otherwise you end up being liable for the debt.

One explanation…..being tight…”he never puts his hand in his pocket” haha.. perhaps for this reason he never noticed it missing for 3 days.
