The Mayor of Salobreña has made it known that the town finished last year with a surplus of 3.4m euros from the 2018 Budget.
Compared to 2015 when the fiscal year ended 1.4m euros down, this can only be good news. Things started to improve from then on with 2016 ending 266,000 euros in the red and then 2017 with a surplus of 1.5m euros.
The Councillor for The Economy and Inland Revenue (Hacienda) Belén Sánchez, said that thanks to turning these figures around, from being in the red to having a surplus, it has allowed the town to invest in renovating the Municipal Market, the Auditorium, the Casa de la Cultura (Lobres), the Pensioners Home, La Plaza del Lavadero (La Caleta) and extensive re-tarmacking around town.
