On Tuesday there was a fatal road accident claiming two lives on the A-7 autovía where it passes through the municipality of Salobreña.
A family car with five people on board – a North-African family – collided with a lorry on the 26th around 15.30h near kilometre point 320 on the westbound lanes.
Two of the occupants were killed in the collision and the other three all suffered head injuries, one of whom was seriously injured. The lorry driver, on the other hand, escaped without injuries. Furthermore, one of the occupants was an 18-month-old baby.
Two of the injured people were hospitalised in the ICU of Motril’s Santa Ana, whilst the person who sustained the most serious injuries was sent to Granada’s main hospital (PTS)
The cause of the accident is not yet known but the Guardia Civil are carrying out an investigation to determine the cause.
