Yesterday saw the first day of the Regata ICON Marina which is using the Marina del Este as its base.

A total of 34 (ORC) yachts are participating, with 21 of them setting sail from Málaga and another 13 coming from Motril Port, all arriving in La Herradura waters yesterday afternoon.

Today, however, will be the best day for spectators as the starting line will be the Peñones del Santo in Almuñécar with leg buoys anchored off the Punta de la Mona and Cerro Gordo with the finishing line at the Marina, all told some ten nautical miles in length.

A good day to take your real camera instead of farting around with a mobile-phone one.
