The neighbourhood association, La luz de Matagallares in Salobreña are very happy with the new road surface along their access lane.
Members of this neighbourhood association together with other property owners along the Calle Cristo de Matagallares were present for the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.
And well they might be happy with the new layer of tarmac because the state of the lane was lamentable after periodic, but inadequate patching-up measures to remove potholes. The lane got into that state owing to the constant coming and going of heavy lorries during the building of the nearby section of the A-7.
It did take quite a few requests lodged at the Salobreña Town Hall to get things moving but finally all of the lane between Cota 100 and Cota 200 was resurfaced.
“We are happy with how it has turned out but there is still many parts to renew, so we are not going to stop with our requests until the all of these lanes are completely tarmacked,” said the Chairwoman of the association, Mari Carmen Pérez Cobos.
