For the third consecutive weekend the roadworks on the A-44 near the Suspiro del Moro junction is causing long tailbacks.

The 6-km-long tailback in the traffic returning from the coast, which began about five in the afternoon, didn’t let up until gone ten in the evening; a situation reminiscent of the days when there was no autovía and there was only the N-323 main road.

But it was equally as bad on the N-323 between the Malahá junction diversion and the Padul autovia-access roundabout, where the lines of traffic stretched three kilometres.

But fear not because the A-44 will be fully reopened for the duration of coming bank-holiday weekend. Work crews, in the meantime, are working around the clock.
