Another Fire in Salobreña

SAL Fire Calle Juan XXIIIThere was a house fire in the early hours of this morning in Salobreña on Calle Juan XXIII, which caused three families to be evacuated.

The fire broke out around one in the morning in flat 2ºB at number eight of this old-town street. Two crews from Motril Fire Station were needed to tackle the blaze, which left the flat completely burnt out.

An ambulance was at the scene but fortunately, it wasn’t needed. Both the Guardia Civil and the Policía Local were also present.

The apartment block contains six flats but only three of which were occupied. Two families spent the night in a nearby hostal, which had been arranged by the police, whilst the third family stayed with relatives.

The cause of the fire is still not known to date although it is thought that a under-table, electric brazier could have been responsible.
