Salobreña Hiking Season

SAL Hiking SeasonDig out your hiking boots because Salobreña Town Hall has organised a whole season of walks in cooperation with Sinergya.

The Programa Municipal de Senderismo de Salobreña has some novelties this year; it’s third year and with eight routes compared to the six routes from previous years.

The hiking routes will take in beautiful natural areas in the Alpujarra, as well as the Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada and some beauty spots nearer to the city of Granada, too.

The first route is planned for the 18th of November and will take in the Acequias de Lanjarón (historic irrigation channels). Then, on the 16th of December the destination will be the Centro de Visitantes El Dornajo ending in Güejar Sierra. This second route was originally planned for last year but was cancelled due to bad weather.

Owing to the success that the visit to the Dehesa del Generalife had last year, there will be a walking trip to El Fargue – Sacromonte- Albaicin in March. This is followed in April with a trip to the Nacimiento del Río Darro and then in May, from Cumbres Verdes to the Mirador de los Alayos.

The June walk will be a nighttime one around the Salobreña area.

The price per walk is the same as on previous years; i.e., 12 euros each and despite there now being eight walks instead of six, the total-package price is still 55 euros (less than seven euros per walk). These prices include transport, guides and accidents insurance.
