A man was injured in Almuñecar yesterday when he fell from a pomegranate tree whilst picking its fruit.
The incident occurred around 10.00h on an orchard near Camping Tropical, next to the N-340 main road when the 81-year-old man slipped and fell, receiving head and other injuries.
It was a neighbour who had heard his cries for help and found him who alerted the emergency services.
The Policía Local and the ambulance crew said that it was a good job that the neighbour had located the man otherwise they would have had great difficulty finding him.
He was taken to the area hospital in Granada, Santa Ana, where he remains under observation.
