As a rainy Saturday begins we report on a road accident in Almuñécar on Thursday in which a driver lost control of the vehicle with it leaving the road and overturning.

It was just after 15.30h when the driver, coming down the A-7 access road to the N-340 (Taramay junction), appears to have misjudged the speed he was taking the bends at with regard to the wet conditions that day.

Although the car ended up on its side, the only occupant got away with bruises and cuts.

Editorial comment: Regardless of the road-surface conditions, those bends between the A-7 and the Taramay roundabout are tight and as it’s a steep, down-hill ride, it’s easy to misjudge your speed.

Somebody told me that if you obey the traffic signs indicating speeds limits, you’ll have no trouble getting around the bends… but who’s going to follow such radical solutions!
