Wouldn’t it be nice to just hand over the keys to your car and let somebody else park it? In Almuñécar they will do that for you…
It’s called getting ‘towed away’ and you don’t even have to leave your keys with them. Sorry to have raised your hopes.
What the article’s really about is that the Town Hall is going to use space next to new fire station as a vehicle compound for cars once they have been towed away for bad parking etc.
The work has a budget of 40,000 euros and is being carried out by the construction company Joanfra. They are going to build a metre-high perimeter wall, topped by a 1.5m-high fence. There will also be all the necessary infrastructure: mains water and electricity, etc.
The Councillor for Citizen Safety and Traffic, Juan José Ruiz Joya, explained that the idea is to have all the confiscated vehicles in one safe place, rather than, as is the case at present, occupying maintenance-vehicle, parking space in the municipal stadium.
The work should take about two months meaning that the municipal vehicle compound should be operative before the year is out.
