The big day for Salobreña’s Romería del Sur will be Sunday the 30th, but festivities will begin on the Friday, of course.
This is the yearly event that sees the beach road laced with colourful floats, and horse drawn-buggies, as well as horses with riders – although the horses will be kept away from pedestrians.
The competition for the most colourful float will be handing out a total of 1,600 euros in cash prizes, by the way: 800, 500 and 300 euros.
Those that want to participate in the competition have until to the 20th to get their names down. This can be done in the Casa de la Cultura.
