Morche was enjoying its fiesta last weekend, but there was one policeman who wasn’t because somebody kicked him in the unmentionables.
The Paseo Marítimo had been turned into the fiestas area, along with the municipal football field and things were going well until Sunday early morning, which was when a 27-year-old man from Torrox decided that the municipal policeman who was trying to be helpful was surplus to requirements, so he dispatched him in the above-mentioned manner.
The policeman was trying to intervene in a dispute between two groups of people; one from Torrox and the other from Algarrobo. In other words, it was a ‘tribal dispute.’
According to the police report, when the policeman approached the man in order to separate him from another ‘belligerent,’ the accused pushed him and delivered a cruel blow with his foot.
The other policemen, after they had finished cringing in sympathy, arrested the aggressor – all this took place at 06.30h in the morning. Not only was the accused drunk but also had also participated in recreational drugs.
