We spoke to the foreman on the La Herradura, beach roadworks on Wednesday the 20th and he said it would be finished by Friday – and it was.
The new roundabout is in place and the road between the municipal market and the Acera del Pilar have been tarmacked.
On the day of the tarmacking, access via Avenida Prieto Moreno was restricted, so alternative access via the lane that runs past the castle, Las Palomas and even the Barranco de las Tejas were busy.
The roundabout appears to be ample for the task, unlike the one in Almuñécar at the bottom of Avenida Juan Carlos I, where the buses have fun negotiating it.
Of course, the roadworks are far from over; merely postponed until after the summer.
