A German tourist had to be rescued by the Fire Service in Almuñécar after he became stuck on a cliff whilst out on a walk with his father.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon near the Peñón del Lobo, which lies between the Marina del Este and the Playa El Muerto.
The emergency services received a call just before 15.00h and a Policía-Local patrol was despatched together with the fire-service. The Guardia Civil also sent a patrol.
The Fire personnel had to use ropes and harnesses to rescue the tourist. The father had managed to climb up the cliff by himself but the son had become stuck, unable to go down or make his way up.
The Guardia Civil, rescue helicopter was called out but by the time it had arrived at the scene the rescue was already complete.
