The jellyfish invasion is already in full swing with waves of them appearing off Almuñécar, Motril and Salobreña beaches.
In fact, tens of thousands of them have appeared all the way along the southern coast of Spain between Almería and Mijas on the Costa del Sol. There were so many between Nerja and Mijas that they scooped up eleven tonnes in just three days.
Furthermore, there have also been Portuguese men’o’war off Playa Granada and Playa Poniente.
Marine Oceangraphist, Karen Kienberger, runs a very informative facebook account on the subject and it’s well worth visiting, if you have any doubts and wish to be further informed.
