The roadworks on Almuñécar’s Avenida de Andalucia are going to schedule – amazingly – and will be finished by the 22nd of this month.
So far the pavement replacement work has reached the Calle Sevilla junction, pointed out the Head of the Public Works Department, José Manuel Fernández.
The original plan was only to reach Calle Sevilla by the 22nd of June but work went so well that they decided to push on with the spare time gained and complete another 30 metres in length.
Apart from improving the road surface where the square cobblestones had sagged and giving the pavement a uniformed pattern and material the whole length of the avendida, the palm trees have been replaced with orange trees.
Although work stops on the 22nd for the duration of the summer, it will recommence just as soon as the kids are back at school in September.
