A tourist in Almuñécar was knocked over by a moped/scooter yesterday afternoon around 17.00h. Fortunately his injuries were not serious.

The incident took place on the road running parallel to the Friday-Market square; i.e., Calle Larache, more or less opposite a well known supermarket.

According to eye witnesses, the rider had been “going faster than permitted.”

The middle-aged victim from Málaga, who had been spending a few days in Almuñécar, suffered injuries to both arms (one fractured elbow), cuts and bruises.

The man was taken by ambulance to Motril’s Hospital Santa Ana.
