A gardener has been arrested in Rincón de la Victoria, accused of stealing from the homes where he works.

The man stands accused of carrying out 16 burglaries in this Málaga-province town, in some cases with the owners inside and violence used against them.

The arrest was carried out as part of Operación Samuvar which in turn is part of the Guardia Civil’s Plan Contra el Robo en Viviendas y Establecimientos Públicos.

Police investigations began around the end of last year in the wake of burglary reports. This investigation led them to conclude that there were in fact three different people carrying out these burglaries, as the modus operandis were completely different.

They soon came up with the identities of two of them, suspected of being behind 30 break-ins in the area, with their subsequent arrests taking place a day apart.

This last arrest; i.e., the gardener, was the last of the three suspects to be detained.
