CD Almuñécar City 7 – 2 Cullar Vega CF
Yesterday was the first game to have been played in the sun in around three weeks and it was glorious. Another positive for CDAC this week was that they actually had a goalkeeper so it was all looking good for the champions.
The game started and early on it was clear that Cullar Vega CF were nervous as they couldn’t keep the ball and the majority of passes missed their mark.
In the seventh minute CD Almuñécar City capitalised on Cullar Vega’s nervousness as Adam Spinks overlapped and put in a tantalising cross which was met by Shem at the back post. The goalkeeper/winger made no mistake in converting the opportunity to put Almuñécar 1-0 up.
Following the opener, the game died off a little in terms of attacking prowess. It wasn’t until the 25th minute that the next breakthrough was made.
Baka made the chance as he wriggled through the defence before getting a shot off. His attempt was blocked but the deflection fell to Sandro who turned the defender and slotted the ball into the bottom left. 2-0.
The third of the day came just ten minutes later as Cullar Vega CF conceded a penalty through a sloppy handball. Sandro stepped up to the mark and cooly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to claim his second of the day.
Half time came around and the scoreboard read ‘Almuñécar 3-0 Cullar Vega CF’.
A mere six minutes after the second half kicked off, Cullar Vega CF conceded a corner which led to George Jermy sending a ball to the back post for Baka to head home and grab his second goal in as many starts.
Sandro hit a huge landmark for both himself and CDAC just seven minutes later as he made it 5-0. The American forward picked up the ball on the halfway line and had a clear run to go one on one with the goalkeeper. He rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home for one of the easiest finishes he’s ever going to have. This goal marked Sandro’s first hat-trick for the club.
Cullar Vega CF attempted the impossible as they mounted a comeback, scoring two goals in ten minutes but their attempt was futile as Almuñécar added a sixth to their tally in the 80th minute.
Kasper and Sandro linked up as Sandro’s through ball found the midfielder who calmly put the ball through the goalkeepers legs.
The action didn’t stop there though as Kasper got his second of the game. He sprung the offside trap and beat the goalkeeper at his far post to well and truly kill the game.
The final score was 7-2. It was a convincing performance and a good win conducted by CD Almuñécar City.
